Paintings of characters in cafes, pubs and bars mean only two things to Danny: loneliness and addiction. Partly a reaction to his own life experiences, and partly inspired by Picasso’s blue period, Danny shows us his romantic take on solitude.
These types of paintings are the only time Danny tries to capture an expression on his character’s faces. Where otherwise he would predominantly concentrate on composition and texture, here we find a keen interest in light, shadow, and human expression.
