Upon graduating, he embarked upon an apprenticeship with the Oscar-winning composer Gabriel Yared, working on film and radio projects and honing his talent in screen composition. In 2009, he orchestrated and arranged for Australian guitarist James Collins’ debut album, “The Way You Look Tonight”, now an exciting commercial release in Australia. Last year has also saw him signed by the publishing company Woodwork Music.

In 2010, Michael continues to compose media music for an international client base, as well as receiving concert music commissions from artists in the UK and Ireland.

One Response to “Members”

  1. Dear Danny and Associates,

My name is Michael Doherty and I am a screen composer based in Manchester, UK. I recently came across your website (which by the way is fantastic-great music) and I am writing because I wondered if you were looking for another composer in your team? If so, I would be most interested in working with you!

When I graduated in 2008 (RNCM) I worked as an apprentice/orchestrator for Gabriel Yared (The English Patient), and since then I’ve been trying to build up some business on my own. So far I’ve been a freelance orchestrator/orchestrator and arranger, written many jingles and recently orchestrated for Spanish composer Joan Valent: he is the composer for a competition film this year in the Berlinale. Right now my focus has turned to forging creative relationships with directors/studios I would absolutely love to do some work for Neokitsch, working with brilliant musicians such as yourselves. I wonder what you think about this. I have heard extracts of your work (great stuf!) and feel that I could really fit in with your style(s).

If you want to hear or read anything about me I have just set up online at the address below. I really hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your time.

    All best,
    Michael
